Whilst still only 18 and the team's youngest rider, Lowri has a wealth of experience, skill and knowledge when it comes to racing. You might recognise her as one of S4C's (welsh language TV channel) cycling pundits.

Experiencing the 2012 Olympics torch parade through Wales peaked Lowri's interest in sport and, with her Dad being a keen cyclist, she joined local club West Wales Cycle Racing Team and was quickly hooked. After dabbling in cyclocross and mountain biking she began road racing in the Wales Road Series in 2013.

Go Ride sessions, where she developed basic handling skills, along with access to coaching, track sessions and camps quickly helped Lowri develop her all-round racing skills and she progressed through the Backsted Bike Performance Team and Tofauti Everyone Active Team before joining us. Lowri also entered the Wales track pathway and she still races on the track.

Lowri is a very competetive athlete and has competed in hockey, netball and swimming but her greatest achievement was representing Wales at the Youth Commonwealth Games in Trinidad & Tobago in 2023, bagging two 4th places, a 5th, two 6th and an 8th place in a hectic track and road programme.

Unsurprisingly, as a commentator, Lowri is a big fan of women's racing and has lots of favourite riders. Dani Rowe not only gave her a bag of kit when she met her but also a lot of time and good advice and Lowri also another admirer of  Marrianne Vos, who she says is pure class, and Elinor Barker for her skill on track and road, and also went to youth commonwealth games.

Lowri hopes to follow in her idols footsteps and make it as a pro cyclist in the near future.

With so much experience at such a young age, Lowri's skills are broad, a puncheur, time trialist and track cyclist, she's currently targeting track championships and time-trials, as well as enjoying being a part of the team.

Lowri's greatest challenge has been caring for and dealing with her 15 year old sister's serious illness. Falling ill when she was 11, her sister faced serious danger from Covid with her whole family isolating for a significant period, and a kidney transplant two years ago has meant Lowri juggling care responsibilities with her racing and training.

Like many of her team-mates who have faced health related challenges however, Lowri now holds the health of herself and others more preciously, and appreciates the need to look after her own health and preparation to keep her focus on cycling.

When not training, racing or commentating on races Lowri loves to spend time with friends and family.

Her cycling pet hate is cyclists riding low saddles or small bikes that make their knees stick out!

We can't wait to watch Lowri race and develop within the team this season, and bring some track and TT success. We just hope all her competitors have chosen good fitting equipment!
