Lizi Brooke

Lizi is another rider new to the team for 2024 and brings with her a huge supply of determination and focus on developing. A former professional triathlete with a string of global victories, Lizi has, and continues to, evolve her cycling skills to bring the power and endurance of a triathlete's cycling to the hectic and technical domestic peloton.

Having moved to London in 2012 and been inspired by the Olympics, Lizi took up rowing. While naturally gifted at sport at school, she'd never trained or focused on improving but now discovered a love for training and studying the process of how to develop further. A conversation with a friend led to Lizi entering her first Ironman triathlon, and exploring further her love of the process of improvement, finding that the rewards were equal to the effort she put into her endeavors. During a short professional career, Lizi won five Ironman triathlons before focusing on the bike from 2023.

Using Zwift as a training tool during her triathlon preparation, Lizi discovered she possessed a strong power output, something that improved when she had to take a break from running, and when her E-Sports team progressed to a physical road team, she quickly found success, 3rd in her regional championships, 14th at the National Road Race Championships, victory (as a pair with her friend) at The Tour of Mont Blanc and 2nd at the National Hill Climb and National 100 Time Trial. Those successes brought her to the attention of the team and she joined us at the end of 2023.

Lizi is now looking forward to working with the team, developing her bike handling skills and building her road race confidence. She sees herself very much as a climber and is looking forward to the grippier races on the domestic calendar as well as in Europe. Her greatest achievements to date are her 2nd place at the National Hill Climb Championship in 2023 and her first Ironman victory while her greatest challenge has been to face uncomfortable challenges in her quest to improve.

Away from the bike, Lizi will be found with her friends, cooking and walking her dog. She's also partial to an odd coffee stop while cycling with her friends if her social media posts are anything to go by! Her cycling playlist of choice is happy, hardcore but reserved for when she needs motivation on the turbo and her cycling pet hate is cyclists monopolising wind breaks and 23mm tyres!

It's going to be great watching Lizi apply her unique, intense focus to the team this season and we'll be watching out for more great performances, especially on the hills.
